Hi Ki,
wow, I´ve never seen a Japanese snowbell before! I think it´s beautiful!
Have a nice Easter time, Verena

Hi Verena,
The tree gets unruly if you don't prune it but the flowers are gorgeous and it forms round green little seed pods that hang like tiny Christmas tree ornaments later in summer. So it's beautiful three times. One for the form of the tree, two for the flowers and three for the fruit or drupes hanging like ornaments. You may be able to grow it where you live.

Are the seedpods messy? It sure looks nice...I'd like to see if I can grow this, I'll try a lookup at Forestfarm.com, from the pacific northwest. They have every cool tree and shrub imaginable, and I order from them every year anyway.

Lisa, ForestFarm has an incredible selection. I have to stay away from that catalog as there are too many plants and trees I want to buy.

The snowbell's seed pods are quite small so although there's a lot of them we don't even bother to sweep them up. It just seems to get incorporated with the soil and lawn. Unfortunately it hasn't produced any seedlings or I would send you one free.
