Tulip 'Angelique'

This is a photo of my favorite tulip 'Angelique'. It is very long lasting on strong stems, very reliable and has a wonderful color. It dwarfs the tiny Japanese maple next to it.

At first I thought these tulips were roses - they are beautiful. I love the colour!

Hi Kate, they do resemble roses closely don't they! This is my favorite tulip. Some of the books say that it grows too tall for the size and heaviness of the blossoms and tend to fall over but that has not been our experience thankfully. And they last and last.

Hi Ki,
the colour of the tulpis are so beautiful! I love flowers in lilac, pink, rose and white :-)!
Last year I had tulips like yours too but it seems as if they are gone this year.
Lots of greetings, Verena

Hi Verena,
I hope your tulips will come up later. Each year our tulips seem smaller. I guess we're not feeding it enough during the growing season. My mother-in-law used to grow great tulips but she dug them out of the ground every year. She also fed them with fish fertilizer and they seem to have bigger flowers every year. Seems like too much work to dig them out but it seemed to work for her.

Wow those are pretty! Are they fragrant too? My tulips do well for me, I fertilize them every year, but don't dig them up.

Lisa, not fragrant that I know of but I haven't stuck my nose next to the flower. This is definitely my favorite of all tulips so far.

What a beautiful tulip! Such a nice shade of pink. I will be putting those on my want list.

Hi Iowa gardening woman, it is a beautiful tulip with a pink blush. This year they seem to be coming up rather slightly greenish yellow rather than white with pink but that may be just the immature flowers. I hope it will revert to its original color and beauty. Thanks for your comment.
