Old fashioned iris

I don't know if this is an old variety but we always called it old fashioned because it looked like a color my grandmother would have favored. We love this iris and have had it for more than 8 years now. It doesn't seem to multiply very rapidly so it keeps a tidy appearance.

Beautiful, especially for the early spring season. I take it that it's a very short (and thus very early) bearded Iris?

Sorry, dwpittelli, this is a photo from last year. I don't know the name of it nor what kind it is. I think we bought it from a beloved nursery that's defunct now since the owner died but they had great plants for a very cheap price. This particular iris was transplanted from our townhouse to our new home because we liked it so much and is at least 7-8 years old now.

Wow, I dig those ruffled petals!

Hi Lisa, this is one of our favorite irises. We even transplanted it from our other home. Almost none of the other plants were chosen to make the trip.
